One of my customers ran into a usability problem while placing an order. I sent an e-mail to the help desk and Robin took care of the extra postage charge that was incurred as well as pointed them to a couple of videos on the order process. I hadn't seen these myself, so I thought I'd share. Thanks Robin and smugmug!
Sometimes ordering from our site isn't so straightforward. We have some new videos on placing orders:

Hey -- that's just what I was going to say. No fair! They get to use Flash videos for their demos, but we can't use them in our galleries?
(I know, I know -- huge CPU time needed for conversion to Flash, quality issues, space considerations, blah blah blah.)
But still...
By the way, did I mention that I signed up for a year with Phanfare, primarily so that I could post videos? Their layouts are nowhere near as varied as Smugmug's, but they'll do. Slick client-side organizer/uploader/touch-up tool too.
If I'm at work I'll upload the big old MJPEG AVIs straight from our Canon SD630, but from home I go through the same hoops of converting w/ ffmpegX (great $15 shareware!). But instead of slow and big MPEG-1, I convert it into quick and compact MPEG-4. That's how Phanfare serves it up natively, so it saves processing time on the server end too.

Drop me a line if you want more details, or a $7-off coupon after your free 30-day trial. ;-}
[Apologies for the shilling. But I really am happy with their video offering.]

It's Adobe Captivate that we use to make those help vids, pretty cool, eh?
