Hi

How to best visualise how prints will come out from my Mac?

Should I set the gamma to 2.2 like a PC or is the AppleMac default best

I'm using an 20" Apple LCD if that's relevant

thanks

can you tell me about the "preserve colour numbers' check box in the Photoshop window?

The pic looks better on the monitor with that OFF, but it was on by default

Sorry in advance hope im not hijacking!

Andy is there the chance of smugmug giving out what settings I should have my display set to on my mac for getting most realistic prints?

I know that would be impossible on a PC but seeing as a powerbook or in my case ibook have a set screen graphics card etc shouldnt it be possible to say what are THE right settings for each machine? in terms of gamma brightness ect ect?
Trapped in my bedroom taking pictures...did i say bedroom? i meant studio!

    My www. place is www.belperphoto.co.uk

No, that's not possible - as machines and local conditions vary - but you sould calibrate. I really recommend the Huey - can't beat the price, either :D
