Dodgin' & Burnin'

Here's my first try at maskin' a print. I made the basic exposure (30"@F8, grade 2.5) and then burned in the sky for some 10" more (grade 3.5) to give it a deeper tone. After reviewing the print I think I'll try another one and burn the sky a bit more. Please don't look at the spots on the top, it's partly my dirty scanner and partly the negative. Comments?

Keep at it, to my untrained eyes it seems you have a real talent for it.
That's the difference between you and me Chad, when I started workin' in the darkroom (2 weeks ago) I already had a blonde by my side.....
Thanks a million for your comments. Don't really know if I'm talented or not but I'm enjoyin every minute of it. It's really much more relaxing to me than digital photography.

Hi Orv, thanks for your kind words. It is really a lot of fun. As I wrote in some other post about this new adventure, I was very tired of sitting in front of a computer. I work 8-10 hours a day with a screen light in my eyes and the last thing I want is shooting and then come back home for some more computer time. Film photography brought back the enjoyment I was loosing. Right now I'm reading the 3 books from Ansel Adams (The Camera, The Negative, The Print). I was lucky enough to found them used on Amazon for 12$ each. The italian translated version costs 42€ each!

Heh, at that time it was about blondes, not a blonde.
