How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Those are some odd looking birds! Love the color combination. They sure have these heavy-duty feet don't they?

It's amazing that we still have such beauty left in Florida with all the people and development coming into the state. I like the tricolor the best...great posture capture. :):

Awesome photos, especially the second and the green heron. Since I'm new, mind if I ask what lens you use? Thanks.

Thanks Ben and welcome to Dgrin. I use 3 lenses primarily for my wildlife shots. My main lens is the Nikon 500mm F/4 and I also use the Nikon 80-400 and the 300mm F4. On these shots I used the 300mm for the green heron, the little blue heron, the tri-color heron and the gator. The 80-400 was used for the other shots.

Thank you Jen. It was much better a couple of years ago but they have been developing all the land around the wetlands so the amount of activity has dropped. :cry

By the time they are done lining their pockets the beauty will be limited to small patchs here and there.
