Help needed - What are these?

I took this first one at The Zoo in Gulf Breeze, Florida. I forgot to write down what it was or what area/country it was from. I know it's a duck, but beyond that I'm lost.

Click images for respective EXIF for that image.

A heron? This was taken on Santa Rosa Island at Pensacola Beach so it is native to the area. I've just never seen a heron with this coloring. Maybe winter plumage, etc?

Thanks for any help on the ID.

Fabs, thank you very much. First imature GBH that I've ever seen. I appreciate the input.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thank you again, Harry. BTW, are there still any openings for the shoot you are putting on in Feb?

I can't argue that point. If he had arms they definitely would have been on his hips.
