    I love that shot and I think the monochrome does it justice! Great, dramatic lighting. Looks like some kind of monster plant in a silent flick.

    Nice capture.

    Your plant would appear to be of the genus Sempervivum, which, by the way, is Latin for Always Living. Appropriate for a succulent-type plant. Species may be tectorum. Also commoly knows as houseleeks, though this term is generic to a lot of different Sempervivum species.
