I like to find colors and shapes, sometimes just colors, and compose with them. Here's one with Canon's 180L macro, wide open, Full frame. Processed just with Levels and Curves. ISO 100, so no need for noise reduction, and nothing here needs to be sharper.

I like it, but I find the white border distracting!

It took me some time to see what's going on in your pic. Well...I would never produce something like this. Nevertheless I like the results of your "vision" and would surely consider this a wall-hanger...well done! thumb.gif

    Thanks for sharing.

Lovely color and texture Fabs. Is there any technique you use when doing abstracts like this? Like do you focus and then back off slightly or do you just eyeball it till you see a patern you like?

I use manual focus and look for subjects in the viewfinder, of course, getting the potential with the naked eye.
The wide open at that focal lenght gives me enough out of focus areas to attain my goal, which is more use of color and shape than portraying the likes of the subject as we see it.

    Thanks all for your comments!!

I love your eye. I admire people who can see the world in terms of color composition, I think it's really cool.
