JR.com offers the Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Prime Lens for $339.99 before a $20 mail-in rebate, $319.99 after. With $6.95 for shipping, it's the lowest total price we could find by $13. Rebate ends January 13.

just noticed this on dealnews.com - seems like a good deal. I've ordered audio gear from JR.com in the past and have had no problems.

just wondering, but can you mate any prime lenses to a teleconverter and still achieve quality images? Id like to try it out with a 135mm 1.8 and a 1.4x tc

As with any TC, there will be some degradation - hard to say how much, though. Try it and find out.

Extension tubes don't affect IQ since it's just a hollow tube. It should change focusing characteristics of the lens (allows closer focus, may not focus at infinity anymore).

You mean the 135/2L? They have it, but it's no cheaper than B&H ($900). Amazon actually beats both when you factor in shipping.
