My nephew was born yesterday

December 23, 2004 my nephew joined us here in the world. His mother is doing well. We are all ecstatic.

D70 on board flash set in rear curtain. B&W filter from album as an experiment.

I'll clean it up later but here they are.

    Beautiful shot. I think I like the one with the baby in better focus than the momma. Nonetheless, they are both very nice...and congrats!

    thank you for the nice comments.

    I was playing with spot focus and rear curtain flash, both for the first time.

    Helps to have such a powerful subject.



    This one marks my first contest entry. I used the first shot just because it seems to capture more of the mom as I know her. I think the second one is better technically, focus, lighting etc.

    I put it up in hte challenge area as a sep thread asking for some input on improving it.

    You did great with just that D70 and the onboard flash (which provided only a slight fill, correct?)!
