The first eagles of the season and in an active nest
Not the greatest light conditions. They were in the shade at high noon and the wind kept blowing the branches and pine needles in front of them. All shots were hand held. Enjoy

Great shooting Jim, I love number 4 and 7, which makes me anxous to see the next installment when the little ones are sure to follow. You lucky dog you, all I can find are ragged old pigeons in Central Park. I wish I could join you, but I'm home for awhile, so keep up the good work.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

The shoot wasn't toooo hard, the tree is right by the road. Not sure about February, may drop down for a day or two - still need to get a good shot of a Spoonbill.

Thanks for your comment. Conditions were not great, even the wind was against me. There will be other times.

None that I am aware of except for the occasional eagle up in the Red River area on the border between Texas and Oklahoma. Other than that, I'd have to drive for hours and hours to get into eagle country.
