end of season and this was my 1st time out w/ my new macro lens...it's very difficult to focus at these distances

    You'll figure it out Randy, you got it spot on with the Hover Fly.
    The flowers are lovely colours....... remember when shooting bugs the EYES are the important thing to get in FOCUS more so than the rest of the body of the bug.

    You are well on the right path Randy, you can only begin but once, you've already begun, so you can only get better and better right thumb.gif

    The bird shot is a beauty... he looks nice and sharp.

    inside a lantana flower (in my backyard)...not many flowere left, it was 28F last night but still no frost and lots of trees (and shade) to protect them awhile longer

    The first one is my favorite. I always have trouble with purples...not sure why...

    Very well done!

    I have gotten myself a macro lens too, as a little pre-christmas present for myself. :) You are right, it is really hard, especially with these small, dark viewfinders of todays DSLRs.

    Beautifull shots! Have a lot of fun with your new lens!

    I need to manually focus but I'm not sure I'm ready to use a flash too...more testing this weekend
