Oh oh! I want to go. I recently found out about it and have been looking for info on the area. Have you ever been there before? How close can you actually get to the birds? So you are gonig from Friday to Saturday? If I go I would not be able to get there until Saturday morning as I work Friday night and have already used all of my vacation days. Thanks for any info you have.

Whats the drive like from the Chicago area?

From Chicago to Medaryville, IN is about 2 hours drive, not bad.

Here is a gallery of a friend of mine who went last year.
He shows the observation decks and some of the area shots as well as some great crane shots.

I would love to go, but don't know if I can swing it. I might have to wait until they move through our area (SW Indiana) on the southern migration.

The drive is closer to 3-3.5 hours. The highway between Illinois and Indiana is terrible and the delays can be horrendous sometimes. Jeff if you are interested let me know, maybe we could drive together. I think I may be going Friday after work and come back Sunday afternoon.

I'm down to go, but I need to wait until they give me my schedule for the next month. I should know by next Tuesday.

Sounds good Jeff. I changed my mind though, I think I'll leave really early Saturday morning to get there before sunrise and leave Saturday night. I just heard from my car dealer and I need a new alternator and a bunch of other stuff so money is going to be tight.

Great galleries! I love the sunset silhouettes. They have a magical feel to them.

I'm in Sw Indiana and would love to join you guys on some of the crazy expeditions I read about on 10D. Would be hard dragging a 4 year old around. Maybe in a couple years............
