Them seem strange just like baby's hands do a little but to the opposite extreme. I keep wanting to look at them.
But another reason them seem unreal and I don't know what to take them as at first, even though you have the title, is because you lost both thumbs and it doesn't quite look look like a human hand at first.
Nice idea, do you have anymore with the thumbs that I could see the difference.

Tell her to stop bitting those nails...she has beautiful hands. Lost her thumbs in saw-mill accident? My goodness how awful. Nonetheless I like the lighter version of the hands. Good job!
