Nice challenge. Gave me loads of ideas, too much! Can't make a final choice. Here are 3 possibilities. Any comments? Which one makes you think "system", and why?

"system going down"

"sails system"

"property system"

    #2
    Numbers 1 & 3 don't say system to me but #2..for sure.

I agree with Swartzy that #2 says system loudest. But I think #1 is the best shot. I hate it when that happens. rolleyes1.gif

Good luck whichever one you choose.

    Thank you
Really appreciate your comments, I will go out to re-shoot the ship today. Suggestions to improve the shot will be welcomed!

    It may be difficult
but try to focus on a part of the sail/rope that clearly defines the system with the other's still slightly in focus. I'm not privy to all sail talk (i.e. jib, telltale, etc.) but was thinking if you could get aboard (?) and shoot the round or wooden cleats with all the ropes involved. Just an idea as possibly focusing on a definitive part of the system (with the greater whole in the background) may convey the theme a bit better.

If you can't get that close, your shot as is will work.

Thanks Swartzy... Think I know what you mean...

This one I shot in July... Unfortunately I could not get aboard today. It might be even nicer when the system's at work...

This one shows that the image as it is now is not as strong as could be. I'll take another idea out of the drawer and start a new thread. Deadline's coming up... headscratch.gif

    YES, that's it
A shame you can't get aboard today..but that is what was in my mind's eye.
