I have just returned from a week in the USA. I stayed in Madison nj and travelled into New York by train. I spent the first few hours in Manhattan doing my best to get whiplash by walking around with my head tilted back as far as it would go taking in these views

It took me a while to work up the courage to jaywalk, the ny cab drivers don't show any mercy

I walked up fifth ave to Patricks cathedral:

I was surprised at how close the cathedral is to the neighbouring buildings, when I watched the paddys day parade in NY the television pictures always isolated the steps of the cathedral.

I stopped off in the apple store and played with the mac pro.... :lust .. some day

I strolled down 9th Ave and came across Lance Armstrong:

The empire state building in the distance:

Heading down the avenue of the americas the buildings changed to these:

I managed to find the brooklyn bridge :)

South Sea port was great:

Wall street:

A sober moment at a fdny station:

and I limped on to ground zero:

a snap of a picture on display outside the subway station at ground zero:

The weather was dreadful on Wednesday, I spent the morning avoiding losing an eye to carelessly held umbrellas... :

Thursday was dry and bright and I spent some time around central park. the fall colours were fantastic:

I watched a fashion shoot for a while, the snow was shovelled out of a wheelbarrow :D

Hah, I was actually sitting outside the park (as I usually do) on the same day as that fashion shoot. The guys were dumping the extra snow on 60th street and I was baffled as to why they were doing that as all it was doing was melting, which I guess was the point.

It's probably a good think I'm not drinking something or I'd be looking for a
new computer screen...Lance Armstrong...that was funny.
