Picasa integration

So I'm in my two week trial of SmugMug and loving all the features, the speed, and the ease of use. Very happy and will go ahead with the full service, I think.
I wanted to ask about any plans for integration with Picasa (my photo organiser of choice). I love the simple one-click 'upload to picasa web album' option in this application (I also really like the picasa web albums for simple photo sharing - very very fast slideshows but lacking all the features of SmugMug).
For SmugMug, I'm having to export pics from Picasa to a folder and then use the 'send to smugmug' windows app to upload them. Not terribly hard, but not as simple as it could be.
Are there any development plans for adding something for Picasa users...?

One of the SmugHackers made an early go:

I've no other news though. Hopefully this will start some more discussion!

Interesting that you've been chatting to them. I guess there's pressure from within to keep Picasa the app sticky to Picasa web albums and within the Google family (and the reach of Google adwords)...
The 'send to smugmug' app isn't a terrible thing, it just doesn't replicate comments and other metadata and means an extra few clicks. I might take a look at Photoshop Elements but last time I tried, it was noticeably slower than Picasa (and not free!).
Thanks for the speedy reply, anyway. I will fire off a few emails to Picasa and see what's what. They did put together a super iPhoto plugin for OSX which made uploading to Picasa web albums simple, so I guess there's some kind of hope!
