I spent over 13 years living in southern Louisiana but moved west nearly twenty year ago. For Christmas this year, my wife wanted to spend the holidays with family.

So, we headed to New Orleans...just in time to catch a winter storm. Imagine our surprise at having a white Christmas in the deep South!

Here are a few photos of a Christmas snowstorm (my first white Christmas in far far too long)...

The height of the storm:

A young palm tree regrets moving to New Orleans:

That same palm tree a few hours later...somebody turn up the heat!

Snowmen breed like cockroaches...first there was one:

Dad! They're multiplying! Get the hair dryer, quick!

Time passes, the threat increases..their numbers have doubled again and again...

A battles ensued....too violent to portray here...only the outcome can be shown:

With the South once again safe from the threat of snow, what else can I say except:

These are great images. I loved the story, and wish I could have been there for the battle. I bet that is one heroes and legends will be born. It is safe to say this one will go down in the history books.

I never would have guessed New Orleans would have had a white christmas and St. Louis did not!

    Thanks for sharing.

Less than 24 hours after the snowmen started gathering at our doorstep, there was nothing left of them except a pile of scattered arms! Such is the fate of snow in southern Louisiana...blink and you miss it. :D

It made some great memories for my kids though.
