Time to check the youngsters again

I haven't been able to get to the nest for a about 2 weeks so I was expecting a few changes. One of the youngsters (what do you call a baby osprey:scratch ) was up a different tree not really sure how to get out and spent about 30mins contemplating his next move while crying out to anyone who'd listen

He did come crashing down but I only heard it as I was shooting there mum at the time.
The other youngster was playing it safe taking shorter flight and just doing lots of wing stretches and small jumps

This was a reply call to the sibling stuck up a tree probably getting sick of hearing about it! :D

I didn't hang around too long as I'd already spent a full day in the sun photographing the Red Bull Airrace so I'll finish up here
Cheers for looking you know the drill (comments and critique always greatly appreciated !):clap

Some nice osprey shots. Especially like the 3rd and 4th ones. thumb.gif I was out in the boat the other day and took a trip to my secret osprey nest (1 of several in the area). I couldn't believe it. IT WAS GONE!!!! Not a trace of it...not even a twig left. headscratch.gifne_nau.gif :cry :cry Don't have a clue what happened to it. I figure it had to be man-removed...as no storms have hit this year. This was very sad. My golden egg is gone. That nest and pair of osprey have been there for 6 years that I know of. Damn damn damn. Maybe the birds are doing a remodeling and took it down. ...to rebuilt something more modern? :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Bird Man for commenting, Sorry to hear you lost one of your nests to shot at. I'm always paranoid about it happening here as it doesn't look like the most stable structure. Fingers crossed you'll get to capture the creation of a new nest some where instead.

    Cheers Gale
