Albums vs galleries questions

Can someone give me any additional info on albums vs galleries?

1) I see online smugmug has you create galleries but the API talks about albums. Their id numbers seem to be the same.

The reason is that 2) I was using the API with the changeSettings to alter Albumid. It kinda worked. But the image seems to end up in limbo.

I see that /1/ in there. I'm concerned about the category setting too. Changed them all to other so that I could remove that issue.

anyway 111323648 was in gallery 2112345...or still is viewable there by thumbnail. but is kinda in 2119660. it the pic of me pointing to my shirt.

The command was
http://api.smugmug.com/hack/rest/?method=smugmug.images.changeSettings&SessionID= &ImageID=111323648&AlbumID=2119660&APIKey=


ok....enough for one day.

    Albums = galleries.

    Hi David,

    I've been overseas for 10 day and now back to restart work on this. Any luck? I'll start doing some testing again.

    I remember testing it at the time and finding something weird, but I have been a little snowed under since. I will retest it later and take if up with Don if it's still an issue.

    Either way i will report back.

    No prob David, just getting back to it myself. I did run some more tests.

    With the message "
    This is a brand new gallery with no photos."

    In gallery 2119660 (destination gallery) I do not see the photo.


    This exercise is an attempt to move from EMAIL (2112345) to 2119660
