Can someone explain the difference between page views and visits, I do not understand.

    Can someone explain the difference between page views and visits, I do not understand.

    Analytics defines a visit as a unique session initiated by a visitor. Page views, on the other hand, are not necessarily unique sessions.

    So, for example, if I went to Page1, clicked through a link to Page2, then went back to Page1, it would register as one visit and two page views for Page1. It would also register as one visit and one pageview for Page2.

    Does that make sense?
