Harlan's Red Tail (etc.)

Jeff Wear and I hopped over to Sepulveda WR this morning (well, really only Jeff was hopping... he squished his big toe this morning under a lift gate -- OUCH!). Anyway, the best opportunity was a hovering kite that stuck around watching the idiot photographer put my camera on the tripod (just as I arrived), then boogied out as soon as he saw I was ready to shoot [sigh]. I did get a shot of a Harlan's Red Tail (only the 2nd one I've seen), plus some other more typical stuff.

If you take Jeff out you have to keep an eye on him and out of trouble. He's getting kind of old, you know. :lol4

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Dick, I backfocused that last Snowy pic a little... tricky tracking job.
Thanks, Awais.
bfjr, I sabotage Jeff at every opportunity. Don't want him getting too good of a shot... or his head will swell to match his toe :ivar
BTW, Jeff -- we're ALL getting older, but YOU are OLD!
Thanks, Bird Man. Ever been to Alcatraz?
PS: Some from today with the Old Man again:
700mm, 1/90s (!) wide open @ f/5.6 -- shooting through a ton of branches and reeds
This isn't a great shot, but check the wing position on the male:
