Hola,

I'm jumping in...

Both these pictures were taken last Saturday night at the SF Salsa Congress. I thought I would be able to get some good silhouettes of dancers but the lighting wasn't right. Instead I focused on the audience.

#1 Private Dancer:

#2 After the Dance:

I think #1 tells a better story but I think #2 is a better photo.

Thanks in advance for the help!:D

I think you are right in that #1 tells a better story, but I get distracted in trying to figure out what the silloutte is doing, rather than on what should be the focus-the dancer. #2 is a great shot by itself- not the story of the performance you saw, but very powerful just as an image. So to get to the point- I like #2 better, it's pretty. thumb.gif

Thanks so much for the replies, Jeff, Lyn, Art & Shima.

This was my first post and my first time entering the challenge. There are so many great shots that I know I don't stand a chance. But I'm here to improve and learn. Your comments were wonderful encouragement. Thanks again. :) I just submitted #2.
