My son's school did one of those this year for their annual carnival/funraiser. It really looks neat when you get all the balloons lit up at once, but I was amazed at how ephemeral each lite up was and how rarely they lit all (4 or 5 in our case) balloons at once. I really like the reflections in the water (but I think inclusion of the ReMax balloon spoiled the atmosphere). Ours was on a dusty old field...

I always love the nighttime and twilight balloon festival shots. Beautiful. Only wish there was no ad on them.

That's a terrific shot. The water reflection really makes it serene.
On the weekend, I also went to see balloons light up, but they were at a race track. Did you see my thread http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=48081
called Latest Fireworks Shots? There were actually 41 balloons in a line.
