1st outing with the Bigma. A lot to learn with this lens and need to work on improving my technique.

Very unusual to see turtles basking in the sun at the end of November in SW Indiana.

    I just got a bigma also....what a beast
stop it down as much as you can, even at the expense of ISO...around f10 it starts to rock

these are very nice but I would have prefered a closer look...you might want to try a crop

You're off to a good start. I agree with Randy about the cropping.

I have never held that lens but I would shot some at f8 ect and see what you have --test shot and see what you get at home --also from my working with the 500 hold it still at all cost --even watch you heart beat --you can only crop so much but the sharper you get the more you crop thumb.gif

My anvil of an antique Bogen tripod seems pretty steady with this lens. A new tripod and a monopod with enough umpfff are definately on my short list.
One thing for sure, it will make me pay very close attention to my technique.

Thanks Dick. I better go do a few more curls. My skinny little arms are going to need some work to handle this lens. Doubt I'll do much handholding with it, but just carrying it, the 20D+grip plus my lead weight tripod.....SHEW!!!!!!!!!!
