A contradiction in terms I know, but my daughter asked me to take a picture with this very specific composition. Looking for feedback on this type of portrait and C&C on this particular shot if you are so led to give some. :)

Great! I love this type of portrait...like the breathing room it gives the subject, plus I like landscape frames on the wall. Looks quite contrasty (not in a bad way!) on my monitor here at work which is usually quite dull. I am interested in re-visiting it when I get home. Nice one!

Thank you! I think the style is growing on me. ;)

It looks contradictory in terms of language but it is not. :D

In current Portuguese we say "lay down portrait" and "standing portrait" for the two situations. This is the literal translation of course.

Languages have these variations (nuances) and the richer the language the more nuances it has.

The photo is very nice and I like the overall colour (color in the US colour in UK).

    Nice daughter.
Perhaps you could make her eyes more clear a bit ...

I think I agree with Antonio. Your daughter's eyes are, maybe, just a bit dark. Aside from that, I think this is a wonderful photography. Well done.

I came back for another look on my home monitor. Lovely shot and I agree with Scott that the whites of her eyes look gray. I would whiten them slightly and remove some of the redness and she will be most appreciative! Lovely shot....her hair looks so pretty! thumb.gif

    Great Photo
Thats an awesome shot and she seems to know a good shot when she plans one. She and you both did great. The only thing i think i might change is maybe add a slight blur to the left shoulder seam of her pullover, and the shoestring tie and eyelet at the V neck. So her face is totally the only thing in major focus. But thats just me. It is a beautiful photo. Aside my quibbles.

This is a different subject, but I think I'm getting the hang of this new lighting and the appropriate settings on my camera! I can't believe the difference in the eyes on this next set:

May be she could use a blouse of a colour, but black.
The black blouse has no detail whatsoever...:D
May be some colour related to the background, like dark red ...
    I don't know much about colours and I should ... ne_nau.gif
