The black and white seemed the sharpest.
The color rendition looked like it was overdone.
More post proccessing isn't always better.
I liked the picture nevertheless.

All I did in Post is bump the contrast for impact cuz it looked a bit dull.
This is for the color one.
Does this help?

I showed the original B&W and Septa to a few PPL and they said they lacked Contrast. So I already added contrast to those. My original B&W which was a color photo that I monochromed was GREY and lacked definition.
(I miss the B&W mode of my old FD97....828 don't have it)
So bottom line is that they were all a bit dull till some contrast was shot into them. Basically made details of each pic standout more.

All I know is PaintShop Pro 8.1. Photoshop CS is real confusing for me.
I have it but haven't had the time or patients to learn it.
Was thinking about tring to learn PhotoShop Elements 3.0.
Is it a bit easier to learn?
THANX for your help.
These Post programs are harder to learn than photography itself!
BTW:
Lynn do you have AIM (AOL Instant Messenger)
You can DL it from AOL's site and use it as a seperate program.
I'm on there as KitKarz

Each person has their own idea about a subject!
I just didn't want it too dark to take away from the mood.
What I did on the 1st one was a REAL flub! :bash
I guess I'll hafta take some time to get to know CS.
IIRC it slowed my computer WAY down cuz it shares my 512mb of Ram.
I value your input so don't :gun2 me!
I just have a LOT to learn with serious post processing.
But hey I'm trying!!
Im not new to Cameras or Photography but these photo programs can be a REAL PITA to learn!!!

The programs seem a little overwhelming to start with, but once you've learnt a few basics its amazing what you can achieve. I started off using photoimpact which I found to be OK but swapped to Photoshop mainly because of the help/advice/tutorials that are available here on DGrin and all over the web.
I had a go at your pictures too, hope you don't mind I wasn't sure if you have curves on paintshop, so I only used a levels adjustment, and then increased the saturation slightly (I also sharpened it up a little to bring out the detail on the bench)

Ah, thought of an example. Which would make the tower of London look better, a semi-dreary day with some fog, or a well lit day with happy green grass?
PS CS is way beyond me at this point!
I started to play with it but wowzers is it FULL of stuff to learn!!
I guess I gotta sit down and goof with it a LOT!
