The Sierra in Fall (Ice)

I've been getting up to the mountains every 3-4 weeks recently. With a cabin being built in the hills (8300') above Bishop there is always something to check up on. This has given me an opportunity to experience the mountains in a way I had not previously.
Here are some shots taken at elevation that I was lucky to get - basically due to lack of snow (which often has fallen by this time). It was utterly beautiful. Sharon and I stood and watched the ice crystals form patterns as the sun struck the creek with its first morning rays.
The shots are mostly from the North Fork of Big Pine Creek out of Big Pine, CA

Yes, they're on the other side of the Owens Valley - at the top of the White Mountain Range. Another great spot to check out. The 395 is open, I don't know about the road to the Brstlecones. The main road out of Bishop to the mountains is open and plowed all year. At least up to where the cabin is located - just below South Lake.
