Just got my Alienbee's and I am learning how to get the lighting setup. My wife is getting a bit tired of posing for me lol....

Here is one for some C&C, I know the pose is a bit Old School' but it works for now. I am trying to get things right at the time of shot to min my PS time so not much has been done with this.

Thanks Ya'll

Tim

Wow Tim! I didn't respond in an earlier thread because I've really not got much to contribute to portraits, but this is 100x better. Love it!

Great colors and clarity. I LOVE how you brought out the BLUE in her eyes. Your wife should be VERY happy :)thumb.gifthumb

    Thanks Gus,

This is a AB800 to camer left somewhere around 1/2 power, a AB400 for the background with the background shovel and set to around 1/4 power. a Sunpak 383 camera left and high for hair light set to around 1/4 also I think. The distance from subject to background was about 5 feet. Background is a gray muslin. She was sitting on a bar stool letting me play lol.

    Here is a layout.....

Great shot. Love your illustration of your lighting setup. Is that produced in a layout program or a specialized software package?
