Hi there folks.......what a great day we all had at the Werribee Open Plains Zoo on Saturday.

David met up with Jon, Andrew and Hien, Lizzy already lives in the area so she took herself, and I came up with Donna and Leah, and the Daggy Pink Hat :rofl

All up the Tour was for 2hrs, in an open Truck that seats 12 people and one Daggy Pink Hat :rolleyes .... and our young Tour Guide was very friendly indeed.

The time seemed to go so fast, but a wonderful time was had by all :D
The new Hippo enclosure is finally open, and has two females and one male, though I am not sure that the Male is able to get in where the Females are, but I bet he wishes he could :wink

Here's just a few that I've managed to get through so far.

Enjoy...... Skippy (Australia)

First off we have most of the Group making silly faces at the Cheeta's

Back when I lived in Dubbo (for two years), I was a volunteer guide at Western Plains Zoo, and I came up with the idea of the volunteers running a photo (and art) competition. Some of these pics would have been worthy contenders, that's for sure - though differen zoo, of course. :D

Ohhhhhh yes indeed, we had a full 2 hrs out with the animals and stopped for Morning Tea for a little while, the time just went so fast.

None of us really knew what to expect, this was a first time for all of us.
It's a wonderful way to see them up so close.

Thanks for looking ........ Skippy (Australia)

Thank you :D well unless we travel overseas, we have no hope of seeing such magnificent creatures in Australia, so these Zoo's with the breeding programs are of benefit for everyone.

Thank you for the comment...... Skippy (Australia)
