Take this photo from Gary Ayala and look at it's EXIF or part of it:

Date Taken: ... Model: Canon EOS 5D ... Focal Length: 200mm (guess: 777mm in 35mm) Exposure Time: 0.008s (1/125) ...

When it comes to my photo underneath the EXIF or part of it, goes like this:

Date Taken: ... Model: Canon EOS 20D ... Focal Length: 200mm (guess: 203mm in 35mm) Exposure Time: 0.005s (1/200) ...

107204002-S.jpg

The 5D is full frame. The 20D is 1.6 crop factor.

Can you explain me this guess thing please ?

Thank you. :thumb

Our system isn't perfect. With the standard styles exif, we're trying to give the right focal length based on sensor size.

Personally I think the "guess" looks pretty lame and should be ditched. If I shoot a lens at 135mm that is what it was shot at. It does not matter what camera was behind it. Judging by those two examples the "guess" is not even close. Just adds confusion.

    200mm on 20D = 320mm
    200mm on 5D = 200mm

    Andy,
Languages have their nuances and - as far as I understand - you did not liked I point that little thing. :D

    A little language misunderstanding.

    OK. No problem for both.

I take the opportunity :D:D to ask something else:

Is it possible to have a Google Map in each gallery ?

I hope soon fly to India or China.
I want to carry a GPS and make the connection between the recorded data and the EXIF from the 20D, later at home through the date and time at both camera and GPS. Got it ?

Did I made myself clear so far ?

    With this program.

I have to test if SmugMug eats the EXIF with this data...

Then I would like to have a Google Map in the China/India gallery with the road done.

The same for all the future travels and for the photos in Portugal.

    Thank you Andy.:D

Did you notice my smilie? That should transcend languages :D

Not the same map as on your homepage, no. But if you add geography data to your photos, you will have a "map this" button which make a map appear when clicked.

OK But you don't know - and I think that if you don't, it's normal - if the embedded data in EXIF through that programs is readen by SmugMug ?!

Why ? Because I am going to get the GPS just for that.

If it doesn't work, the GPS is garbage for me eek7.gif.

Thank you Andy :D (the non-language signal) :D
