Woke up early yesterday morning and headed down to [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Connecticut Audubon Society's Coastal Center at Milford Point to watch the sun rise. Words can't explain how it made me feel. It was just beautiful. The water, the sun, the sounds of the birds. What more could you ask for. Anyways, here are some of the pics. Hope you enjoy them. :D

Did you want comments here? If not please let me know and I'll remove this post :)

Looks like a beautiful location, but I'm sure it was COLD with the weather we've all been having the last few days!

Were you using a graduated ND filter? I really think that would have helped you out a bit with the below the horizon portions being so dark. Maybe even a reverse ND.

Of the shots you posted I really like the last two, second to last needs to be rotated a tad to level out the horizon and in the last shot a small crop to remove the land at the bottom would be great! thumb.gif

Yes it was pretty windy and cold. But so worth it.

Wasn't using any filters. The water was just that dark. Everything was pretty much a silhouette. Would a reverse ND help the dark water? Would it make the sky too light in return?

Didn't notice the tilt, thanks for the heads up. I'll have to fix that. I thought about the crop on the last one but thought it gave a bit of perspsective, no? Maybe i'll try the crop and compare the two and see which looks better. Thanks a bunch for the input, much appreciated. Have a great day.:D

Here's a lot of info on the Reverse Graduated ND Filter
Basically. the bottom is clear, the "horizon" is 1,2, or 3 stops and then it graduates to 1 or 2 stops to the top. There are some sample images on that page too.

I think it would be better without it at all, but if you wanted it for perspective I'd see about getting a little bit more and making sure it was level. As is, it looks like a mistake since it tapers off on the left side. But, those are some NICE colors!! :D
