Moorpark Fire

Early morning this Sunday hills in the nearby city of Moorpark caught fire. The gusts of Santa Ana winds quickly helped it spread around. :cry
By the time I managed to get there most of the fires were out down, but I still caught a glimpse of it (with my new 100-400:-)
You won't see smoking railroad every day:
Nor will you see firefighters working up close and personal on a regular basis:
A few more shots are here: http://nik.smugmug.com/gallery/2202507

Hi Nikolai........ we're in the same boat here in Australia, pretty severe drought mode, now at Stage 3 water restrictions, and about to move onto Stage 4, which we have never ever been on before.
I truly hope and pray that this summer will not bring devestating fatal fires for us, we really need some rain in a major way.
Good shots Nik.... Skippy (Australia)

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
[The only time I saw real fire in Oz (I'm not talking the on in Crocodile Dundee) was in some old episode of Survivor. It looked very nasty even on TV. :cry
My wishes are that you're not hit with any of such stuff...
That's 'cuz it's getting illegal to smoke in most public places in California.
Unsharp at any Speed
nice PJ is it due to warm weather ?

Thanks!
AFAIK only one house was burnt, the damages are minimal...
That first shot belongs as a still poster for Back to the Future part 3!....You would make "Doc" proud! Great capture.

Are you sure you're not mistaken it for a "Mad Max"? ;-)
Thanks, David!
(Sigh - one day...)
Nice shots, VERY glad to hear that the property damage was minimal. Hope no-one was hurt, either.
#1 is very atmospheric. ( on the smoking comments )
