Hi
I'm new to Digital Grin, posting, and photography in general. I've always enjoyed it but have only recently been able to really explore and learn about it. I love to learn and hope that you will provide feedback to facilitate this never ending process.
Taken with a 5D-IR Exp. 1/100s @f/8 ISO 400 Lens 16-35 @35mm
Thanks for viewing.

HOWEVER, I'm also an animal lover and I have to ask what this donkey is doing on the side of the road, looking so sad and skinny.

Hi there Deanna, and welcome to Dgrin
Awww your Donkey looks sad .... I still haven't figured out how to put colour in IR, so mine are all Black & White.
Im sure you will enjoy the many forums here at Dgrin Deanna.

Welcome to Dgrin!
Great shot! I really enjoy taking scenes from a typical day and shooting in IR.
Unfortunatly, my IR camera is under the knife right now - its been relegated to the Sony CCD issue and is in Laredo getting its diaper changed. I hope to get it back by Christmas break to continue my quest to capture invisible light!

Nick - Hi and thanks for the warm welcoming. Yes, the 5D was already modified when purchased and was bought used
Christina - Thanks for the feedback.
Skippy & Christina - He did look a bit sad in this photo, but there are few others of him and he's more up-beat and even regal, if a donkey can pull that off... (I think he's a model re-incarnate) This was taken on a recent vacation to Tortola, BVI. Anyway, there was plenty of animal life freely roaming/ranging about - cows, chickens, roosters, dogs, cats - none in any particular hurry but all seemed quite content
The colors for the most part are out of the camera, some PP to separate the donkey out more. Found that (much to my surprise) the IR 5D captures not only magenta but some blue as well. Where in my limited experience, I've found that the D60 IR captures only magenta and looks better IMO desaturated.
Dan & Mike -
Continued from above: I imagine Dan or Mike may know more about this, since I'm only venturing into this??? If so, any insight would be appreciated. I'm wondering if it's the difference in the original sensors that are to be modified??
Ivar - Thanks for pointing out helpful links and the encouragement.
cdonovan, pug8, Molsondog, Awais Yaqub - Thanks for your comments
