Who's that bird?

Hey guys,

I found this guy/gal and his/her mate in front of my house, squawking up a racket in a tree. I'm near Detroit, MI just on the other side of the river from Canada. What is he/her, some kind of hawk?

    Did you get any other angles? Specifically of the back and tail?

    Okay, I'm posting this one under duress as it's not a very flattering photo (to he, she, or me). Glad this isn't the whippin' post! Horrific lighting and a pretty extreme crop, but should be decent for ID purposes. I honestly don't recall if this shot is of him or of the mate, but as they say, birds of a feather...

    Sharp-shinned Hawk =ne_nau.gif my best guess. Sure looks like it to me. Someone else more knowledgeable may come along and disagree.
