This is just a short cliff note version of my initial experiences of owning the ipf5000.

Bad news: The documentation is horrible!

Good news: Shortly I will be able to recognize everyone on the Canon help line just by the sound of their voice.

If you decide to pick up one of these babies you will be calling the help line. :D

The analogy I would use is, you have a Piper Cub single airplane. You have worked and studied to learn how to fly it, and your pretty good by this point. Now you stop by your local Planes Are-Us sales lot and pick up a brand new 747. Do you really think you can fly it?

The long and the short of it is large format printers, the ipf5000, does not operate the way a smaller desktop will. To say it’s not intuitive is a gross understatement.

Good news, the print quality capabilities are state of the art.

I just picked up a 32” X 48” canvas print that was printed on an ipf9000, and I was very impressed. The image is stunning. The client is very happy. :clap
