Fog and frost in the mountains

Last Sunday was dark, cloudy and gloomy. Nevertheless, to enjoy some fresh air, I drove to a nearby ski resort at about 1800 meters above sea level to walk around and take some photos. There was still no snow, but because of cold mornings and wind, the fence and shrub was covered in frost.

This is the fence at one of the ski runs:

The frost on it made for some nice abstract photos:

The shrub was frosty too:

To give you an idea just how foggy it was: :D

If you want to see the rest of the photos from this walk, look here.
Photos taken with Canon 350D and Tamron 18-200. Comments welcome! :D

Wow, that's some crazy frost!! It must have been super windy up there!
I like the lift picture too, that's a lot of fog and the empty chairs make for an eriee scene :)

Thanks for posting and stay warm!

    These are nice
I love the ice formation with the nut/bolt. The chairlift looks....cold! Thanks for sharing.

    I like
The frost on the bush! It's nice you could take a dreary situation and find ways to make some neat photos from it.

Anna, great shots, I like #3 they look like sea anemones, and I like the mood of #4. Great shots.

Amazing stuff you captured here. And that frost!!! We had something similar to this happen here in Colorado last week. It is called "hoar" frost-- not sure why-- but is makes things looks gorgeous. Particularly festive looking trees, too.

I really like the last one. I think with a little processing you could change the mood a bit.

I took this on the "little matterhorn" in Switzerland last year:

    Thanks, everyone, for your comments!
The winter is still not quite here, but it snowed a little in the mountains where I took these photos. As much as I like sunny weather I hope there will be more "frost and fog" photo-ops during the winter. :D
