Sigma 30 f1.4 vs Sigma 28 f1.8 vs Tamron 17-50 f2.8 tested
I have the Sigma 28mm f1.8 b/c it's a cheap and fast occassional use lens. I use the Tamron 17-50 as my walking around lens, so I borrowed my buddies Sigma 30mm f1.4 to see how the lenses compare.
Sharpness: Tamron has about same center sharpness as the others as well as consistent sharpness at the corners. The 30mm has the worst corner shaprness. The 28 is in the middle (no surprise since it's a FF lens).
CA: The 28 is the worst, Tamron is the best.
Flare: The 30 is the worst with visible CA, Tamron is the best. This is both wide open at sotpped down to f4.
Color: Tamron seems a touch cooler
Contrast: Tamron has the most contrast, the 28 the least.
