VERY nice work with the B&W conversion. The texture is GREAT.
Frankly, I think that's one of the best shots I've seen here in terms of processing work. You really got the contrast and sharpness of the foreground right.
And those that have seen my other posts know that I won't say good things about a photo unless I really feel them. No fake praise here.
OK. I'll play devil's advocate on this one. I agree the B&W conversion is good and I also like the texture of the sand but I find that the rocks in the background are too centered and the sky too plain.... It just doesn't offer a good balance for the strong foreground.
I said I was playing devil's advocate here...I do like the image. This is Canon Beach in Oregon right?

It was a medium brown, the highlights are light tan.
