I am undergoing a Canon - to - Nikon transition. Now that I have test driven a new D200, I am going to complete the switch. I have babied my gear far more than was probably reasonable. All of my stuff is clean, well cared for, and works well within my tolerance limits.

All prices include shipping in the continental USA (UPS ground). Email serious inquiries only. FYI, I am extremely happy with these Sigma lenses and I plan to replace them with their Nikon-mount equivalents as these are sold.

[edited to change asking price]

***SOLD*** Canon 20D with 18-55 kit lens, one extra BP-511A battery, and one extra MAHA BP-511 clone battery (two extra batteries included). Excellent condition. $675

***SOLD*** Sigma 12-24 including front and back caps and the included padded case. Excellent condition. $550

***SOLD*** Sigma 100-300/4 including front and back caps, lens hood and padded case. Super condition, except for some minor flaws in the finish near the tripod mount. $625

***SOLD*** Sigma 1.4x teleconverter including front and back caps and padded case. Excellent condition. This is the NON-DG version. $85

Do you have some photos with the 2X on the camera.

I hardly used the 2x, but I did manage to find one from last year. Frankly, I used the 1.4x a lot because it is so much more compact. Plus, you lose AF with the 2x and any lens slower than f/2.8.

    The attached was taken with 20D, 100-300 + 2xTC at 600mm.

    Sold 28-135IS and 420EX flash...

    everything else is still available!
Can you edit your first post with what is still available? Perhaps put a "SOLD" next to items that are in fact gone?

I already deleted the sold items.

Lots of interest in the Sigma 150. First come, first served!

ok. it actually makes it less confusing if you just mark them off as SOLD... referring to the later post that says "28-135 and 430EX sold", that must leave some folks wondering, since they don't appear in the first post anymore.

    just suggestions, of course.

That's a great price on the 20d.... too bad I just purchased a Rebel, heh. I'm sure you'll have some takers though with a price like that.

Yes, and I just lowered it a wee bit more.

Does the 1.4 converter still give you auto focus abilities?

As far as I know, as long as the max aperture of whatever lens you're putting on it is f/4 or greater, it will autofocus. It autofocused fine with my 100-300/4, 150/2.8, and my Sigma 180/3.5 Macro when I had it.

These are the only three lenses I've used it on. If you already have the lens you want to use it with, then you should be able to research it.

The 100-300/4 is the only thing left!

Not true. For any camera, it goes by effective aperture. I can't say for sure about the 20D, but on my 10D and RebelXT that was f/5.6 - in other words, the 1.4x TC made the 100/300 into a 420mm +1 stop to f/5.6, so it AF'd just fine. However, the 2x TC on the f/4 lens would not AF as the resulting aperture was +2.

The question had to do with the 1.4x TC, not the 2x.

The 1.4x TC will AF as long as the effective aperture is f/5.6 or less. Then again, there's physical issues; the Sigma TC, like the Canon, has a protruding front element and will not mount on every lens.

It's moot anyway because the TC has been sold.

Unlike other forums, I like to encourage good discussion on our flea market, this is often a good source that turns up in people's searches about certain equipment. I just wanted to make it clear to others who might be researching this lens/TC combo. The way you worded it, made it sound like as long as a lens is a given aperture, the TC has no effect. Now that you've clarified, we are in agreement, but not everyone makes the same assumptions. Yeah?

Is the sigma 100-300 still available? Is it the DG model? How old?

    Thanks
