    Chuck,
Love that shot of coach K with the flag in the background. Really great composition and love the bokeh wide open.

If you get to shoot the mightly Wolfpack against the Devils can you post? Your shots are really great!

Hey guys, if you happen to get any shots of the Duke pep band I would love to see them. A good friend of the family is a senior at Duke and she's in the band. :D

By the way, the band is not part of the music department, it's part of the athletic department. Coach K calls it "my band" and says it is a big advantage for his team. clap.gif

If it's the same band that plays at all the hoops games then I've got tons of those...if you tell me what instrument she plays I'll also try to snap a few for you tomorrow at the women's game. And if you talk to her please say that I hear "Devil in a Blue Dress" in my sleep thank you very much. eek7.gif:D

Super action and a couple of great teams to shoot clap.gifthumb.gifwings.gif Duke's men's and women's teams. What a double-header iloveyou.gif

I think you can tweak most of them to look even better. Most look a little cool (too blue) and some could use some exposure or shadow highlight help.

Thanks for the feedback Steve...your pp isn't the right color balance for the arena and its feel...far too warm. I do agree with you on the shadows but I just don't have the time to clean them that much since there's so many games/week between the men & women. HOWEVER, and either way, I absolutely appreciate your feedback and I always welcome comments/critique...thanks again! I'll keep 'em coming...

Here's another of Coach K(alm?) that I found...he's usually beyond intense on the floor so I thought this was an interesting change of pace.

    Hi Chuck,
Yeah I went overboard on warming this one up. It's just that the uniform whites looked pretty blue-ish to my eye. ne_nau.gif

Less warmth, upped exposure and white uniform.

It's definitely a blast...I actually prefer the women to the men for photography just because it's a little slower and sometimes easier to track/freeze the action. The women play beneath the rim tho so unfortunately no shots like this:

Hmm, as I recall she used to play the clarinet - is that in a pep band? She's a very cute brunette, a senior this year OH MY GOD... I remember her as an infant... boy am I OLD!

Anyway, not sure how to describe her other than that, but no worries! I just thought if you had soe shots of the band I might be able to pickm her out -

No problem...here's all I have...pretty random shots from random games. I upped the exposure and posted the large files so hopefully you can spot her. Let me know if you do and I'm happy to get some more pix for you at the next game(s).

You are awesome, thanks for all the effort! Unfortunately I don't see her, but I really appreciate it anyway - I'm going to forward this thread to her folks, I'm sure they know a bunch of these kids - thanks again! clap.gif

No problem...if you can find out what instrument and confirm that she plays at the hoops games I'll try to snag a few.

I found the women to be more challenging to shoot though, harder to get those sort of splashy front page shots. But the women work more in the paint, so where as men I would get more shots at the hoop and driving towards the net, It was easier to get womens shots with the other team in the shot.
Same goes with womens hockey. But I think all hockey is beautiful cause i am completly biased :)

Nice shots though, makes me sad I am not shoting college right now. But I just moved so once I settle I am going to go out and hunt me down some new clients. :)

I find it the exact opposite but I think that's come from covering them all season and learning the team dynamics. The men and women have pros/cons and I don't think I prefer over the other...

Chuck, I'm very jealous! I'm a huge Duke Basketball fan and have never had an opportunity to make it to a game in person. I'm hoping to get tickets one of these years and spend the weekend down there to visit the campus as well. The pictures are great! I look forward to seeing more of them in the future.

Thanks! Much appreciated...drop me a line if you're in the neighborhood. The Duke campus is really amazing...and there's nothing like watching basketball in Cameron with the crazies.
