That is sad. I loving going to the zoo and seeing them. They are such intelligent and perceptive creatures.

I remember once at the zoo one picked up a pile of dung and slung it at the glass where my sister-in-law, whom I don't get along with, was making faces at him. Right then and there I knew apes where smarter than the average bearmwink.gif

rolleyes1.gif Sounds like a similar experience I had. The gorilla (the silverback, naturally) was happily sitting there blowing raspberries at nobody in general, so my stepfather blows some back. The gorilla's head whips around & locks on him, then it reached back for some ammunition & starts flinging. :twitch We promptly grabbed him & left the area. But wait, it gets better. Hours later we come back figuring the gorilla will have forgotten & all will be well. Nope, same silverback sittng there & he immediately spots dad, gives him the stinkeye umph.gif then turns his back on us & won't turn back around until we leave. :moon

    This news is really sad.

What a beautiful and fitting picture for this topic. All animals must face extinction some day...it's really a shame when we help speed them on their way. Unfortunately, an end to poaching is probably not anywhere near.
