variety is the spice of life...(5 pics)
especially when all were taken in the space of a day.... and there were even more varieties but i decided to take pity and conserve bandwidth...:D
hope you enjoy...
Regards...Keith
my first eastern bluebird (even though i've been looking for a while...)
the local kingfisher (and i do believe he has a small catch in his mouth...)
a grounded northern flicker showing off a hint of his yellow feathers...
I believe these are hooded mergansers (we have some common ones as well) - there is a large group of at least 50 or more at the local lake...
and last, but not least, one of my better red-tailed hawk shots to date...
hope you enjoy...

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I like the first the most.

A wonderful Series!

Thanks for the comments - here's one more full spread from the same series...maybe even a slightly better angle....

...from the same day...Regards...Keith
is you can tell how close I was becaue the head is in focus but the wings are not - the problem was I was using my 400 f5.6 on the bluebird moments earlier with the closer focus adjustment and never changed it when the hawk surprised me. The shot here was one of only a couple that were decently focused and where i did not cut off the wings...
Regards...Keith
the hawk is very good for me - not thay many hang out that close to me, but the bluebird is my sentimental favorite of the group...
Here's how I saw him first - a hint of blue...

Must be fun to be able to run on water!
