especially when all were taken in the space of a day.... and there were even more varieties but i decided to take pity and conserve bandwidth...:D

hope you enjoy...

Regards...Keith

my first eastern bluebird (even though i've been looking for a while...)116031133-L.jpg

the local kingfisher (and i do believe he has a small catch in his mouth...)

a grounded northern flicker showing off a hint of his yellow feathers...

I believe these are hooded mergansers (we have some common ones as well) - there is a large group of at least 50 or more at the local lake...

and last, but not least, one of my better red-tailed hawk shots to date...

These are very good Keith. I especially like the Kingfisher since they are so hard to capture.

We're just south of you and we don't get too many blue birds either. I blame it all on the "Evil Birds" (house sparrows). I love the way he is speading his wings in the shot. Great catch! Perfect timing on the Kingfisher too.

    A wonderful Series!

Jeff...the interesting thing about the hawk...
is you can tell how close I was becaue the head is in focus but the wings are not - the problem was I was using my 400 f5.6 on the bluebird moments earlier with the closer focus adjustment and never changed it when the hawk surprised me. The shot here was one of only a couple that were decently focused and where i did not cut off the wings...

    Regards...Keith

    Thanks, Jen and Dallas...
the hawk is very good for me - not thay many hang out that close to me, but the bluebird is my sentimental favorite of the group...

Here's how I saw him first - a hint of blue...
