Very nice images. You are doing very well for yourself. How close can you get to the swans there? I have thought of taking a trip there, maybe next year.

Excellent series David. thumb.gif In some of the shots with the swans in the water it seems like you had some blow-outs?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nick, we'd love to have you....come on up. At this particular location we were around 40-50 foot away from the edge of the ice/water....some walk up on the ice. There is a lady that feeds them each day as her back yard leads to the river. She has a mini grain elevator/conveyor and fills buckets of corn. It's quite a sight as the geese, ducks and swans all start coming in from all over. Her entire back yard is filled with Mallards. One of our guys took a shot of it and the lady feeding.

The last couple weeks the swans were in full force. I'll be planning a trip to Alma for the Tundra's next year too.

A couple are right on the edge. When magnifying them they are close but not quite. I shot these at 2/3 ev under and brought them up in post. White subjects in water on a sunny day...now there's a combination for mental gymnastics! Tricky stuff. There were some shaded areas too and getting proper exposure was.....heh, you get the picture. Thanks for the kind words!
