my first Lightning

I've never tried to capture lightning before. In the end it proved quite easy. While it wasn't too dark I've used ND filter and tried repeated shots at around 20 to 30 seconds. I've captured about 20 in 180 shots. These 3 were the best:

Nice shooting. I think I prefer the third shot because it has the lightest and most interesting sky.

Really fantastic shots. The first one has great color which seems unusual for lightning shots. Powerful sky. Really great job here.

You Aussies seem to get the best lightning.

Got to agree. Those were the thoughts I had when I saw these.

Well done on some awesome shots there.

I really need to try lightning shots sometime.

WOW! Fantastic coloring. Was there still a little light left in the day? I'd love to see what you can do out in the open away from the city lights.

Hard to get that quality of coloring.

Thank you all. I must admit this being my first attempt I did waste a lot of time just trying to get a decent capture. It is not usual for me to try long exposures like that.

Last image had some daylight but otherwise they should be considered night shots.
