A Climbing Weekend

I headed south with three friends for a weekend of playing on some newly bolted lines near Margaret River. Saturday afternoon was spent in a Karri forest where there is a steep limestone wall with one hard but quality line.
The lighting wasn't great but it's still a nice place to be regardless.

Lots of blown out area's I know:dunno

Sunday was spent on Limestone as well, but is situated alongside Margaret River near where it reaches the ocean, once again an ideal location to hang out.

10-22mm for some of these

Some of these hives are absolutely huge!! (not using the wide angle anymore!!)

A few of the anchors have been covered by a bee hive which have shut down some really nice climbs, but who's about to argue with several thousand angry bee's:scratch

That's me :D

Framed really badly I know but I still like this shot

The walk back to the car

Not alot of actual climbing shots but we tend to try and follow the shade for climbing so as to make shooting difficult unless, we are only going out to get some good photo's.

Last one and my fav

Nice shots! I haven't been climbing in a few years (and I was, of course, better at rapelling ;) ), but I was always a chicken and used screwgate carabiners :)

Looks like in the ancor shot the camera focused on the rock above the carabiners.

That third shot is quite nice!

I love the "out of the shadows" picture, NICE lighting!

And stay away from the those bees!! (I hate bugs, can you tell?) Looks like you guys had a good time!

And this is all that stops you from dying. :D

Love that last one. Working with climbing in the shadows of trees is always tricky, I think you did quite well with that. thumb.gif Assuming that's where the tricky lighting is coming from...

cheers all for the comments, it is a little crazy how small the biners are getting and still they hold your weight in a fall!!.
It is the tree's in the first few that create the hard to work with lighting and the fact its an overhanging limestone wall for the last few keep it challenging.

I hate to be the one to make this critique, but you should check for the proper use of apostrophes before titling an other wise EPIC photograph.

Good looking work. I need to get back into climbing.
