Nikon flash compatibility on Canon P&S.

I ordered a SB-800 speedlight today, for my Nikon.

I also have a Canon Powershot Pro1.

I would like to occasionally use my Nikon speedlight on my Pro1.

I'm sure TTL is not compatible, but will I get decent results? Will it work at all?

Shooting manually? I can't see why that wouldn't work.

But then I'm not an expert on the Nikon stuff. Anybody?

it may work on manual, I have no idea what the hot shoe connections look like. however, to use the flash manually is a major PITA - to get "decent" results, you'll be fiddling with power settings within the SB-800, and I have to say its not terribly easy. When I shoot with my SB and old manual focus Nikkor lenses, this is the situation I get. It a chore, for sure. Unless you are in a fixed studio setting, in which case, I don't know why you wouldn't just use your Nikon SLR, it won't be easy.

In other words, even if it did trigger, I doubt you'd end up using it much on your Powershot.
