I enjoyed a trip to my hometown back in October. More than a month after returning I have finally begun to process the many, many photos I took while there.

Please take a look at my gallery and let me know what you think:

    New Yorker?
I'm an ex-New Yorker too! I was too busy my last trip to "do" the city though. My mom's on Long Island so I shot windmills :-)

I love the light on this one.

Nice shots, Angelo, and nice work in the gallery, too. I especially liked the library and parking lot shots. I would have linked to them here, but I'm not as smart as Dee and couldn't figure out how to make that work. rolleyes1.gif

    Cheers,

    It's easy to link

When you visit someone's gallery under the image there is something that says links, blogs, etc. Click on that and you should get a choice of sizes from Thumbnail to Original. I usually pick medium or large. Copy the link. Go to dgrin and find the thread you want to respond to (usually my browser opens two windows, so I just go back to the dgrin window. Reply to the post, write your message... then click on the yellow square on the row with B I U, etc. above the text window, go past the globe and link, and when you come to the mountain and sun, click on that icon. Just paste over whatever text comes up (or you'll get a double http, etc.) and it goes in the message.

Whew, that was a rather long winded example... rolleyes1.gif

When you reply to a post that has photos in it, if they were from smugmug you can change the size to Th or S or M by typing over the L in the link in the quote.

    I hope that makes sense?

Thanks Dee. I never noticed that before. Maybe it's a newer feature. I always assumed that "right-click protecting" my images (which I did) protected against all borrowing.

Silly that one feature can defeat another, especially a security feature.

I was born and raised in the Bronx (north east) with lots of family in Westchester and Long Island.

I lived in Plainfield NJ for a short time too.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice shot. I'm a Long Island girl myself. Born and raised in Suffolk County (South Shore... Center Moriches to be specific) all of my life. Didn't leave until I was 18 to go to college in Indiana... I'm still there now done with my bachelors and working on my master's....

...need to get out of here and back to somewhere with more ocean again in the future... I miss my fun summer birthday parties by the beach... :)

Hey Harry thanks for stopping by for a peak and comment. I have to admit, when I was Johnnies for pizza and Katz' deli for pastrami I was WAYYYYY too busy eating to snap any pictures rolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif

But I did make a new discovery on Spring St:

    Snow on the beach

What's wrong with a snowy beach? My grandparents used to think Ed and I were crazy because we'd leave early from New Jersey for holiday get togethers so we could stop at Jones Beach for awhile.

But.... I know what you mean or I wouldn't be on the west coast either. Of course where you are you can definitely enjoy the beach all year round.

Where I am the water is so cold only children and idiots go swimming... and the surfer dudes are fully suited up!

Sometimes I can find some shallow areas that have been warmed by the spring or fall sun (no summer sun, it's obscured by the fog).

But I like San Francisco and at least it's cool in the summer since I'm not fond of extreme heat.

I'm probably due for an LA trip, it's been years. I like Dana Point, Malibu, etc.

Halfway down, Pismo Beach is a nice trip for us too. More pelicans year round too.
