I just bought a Canon 35mm f/1.4 L lens for my 5D from B&H. I just wanted to share my joy with the forum members. Package should arrive by Monday.

That is a great lens. I traded my 24-70/2.8 for it and have never looked back!

    I had a 35mm f/1.4 on a Nikon years ago. . . . It was my favorite lens. You'll really enjoy yours, I think. thumb.gif

Luckyrwe got my copy in that trade which I bought from the Andy Williams store of rotating lenses. I landed up buying another one. I missed it. I'm still enjoying the 24-70 though. Great zoom for flash and inside shooting.

Update. I tested my 35 f/1.4 today and the lens front focuses quite noticeably. Now I have to send it back to B&H. :(

ne_nau.gif Tom- Could you explain what you mean by "focuses quite noticeably"? I don't understand.

He was saying it front focuses, meaning that it tends to focus on subjects in the foreground incorrectly; ie too close to the camera.

And I am sorry to hear that! I hope your problems are fixed with ease!

Doh! Front Focuses! I read it as lens-front focuses. rolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif

I'll send it back today. If I focus on a word on a page in a book with a tripod and remote switch and MLU.....instead of focusing on the word.......it will focus on the word two sentences down the page...for example. All my other lenses are perfect.
