One of the best ice hockey refs who officiated my sons in-house competition last night.

Not your standard Ted Szukalski portrait, but cool because it shows him not watching the game. Is he..

Checking the time remaining on the clock?

    or

    Wishing he was somewhere else?

Great job Ted, makes you think about what's going on under the helmet.

BTW, I love your gallery. It takes a brave person to shoot candids and you do them so well and tell a story at the same time. Most just shoot people but you stop and get to know them a little too.

Darryl, he is checking the clock. Well spotted. This was a round-robin tournament with 9 games, 15min each played one after another in quick succession. The refs and the players were very tired towards the end.

Meeting people is part of the fun.

PS: you should recognise many places in my gallery as we seem to shot in common places, but this shot in particular should be instantly identifiable location wise:

The good old Newcastle Baths. These are currently closed for an indefinite period as they undergo major restoration of the main building. The council was actually going to knock this icon down but the public voice won over.
