Back in the mid 80's we moved way out of town to have our few hectares and peace and quite, our neighbors at the time were Market Gardeners (truck farmers?) and the horsie set. In the last 10 years or so the market gardeners usually of first generation Southern European decent have been retiring and selling the properties to land developers as their kids aren't too interested in taking over the family farm. We've known for the past 6 or 7 years we would have houses along our property line, but when you first see the heavy equimnent working next door reality sets in.
pulling out the irrigation pipes
Hauling the sand away, in the background you can see how close the houses are now.
Looks like something out of Starwars. Call me old fashioned but i was surprised to see that a lady was driving this monster.
more heavy equipment.
The developers were doing their best to keep the dust down but we had to rewash our whites that were on the line.
Morning tea break.
The end.
